The reason of British encroachment and their
defeat in India remained on two basic facts. First, the lack of unity among the people and the second
was the racism/castism. The most of the Maharajas were busy in
raising army and fighting against each other in the name of
honor. The British joined one or the other, eliminating those
kings one at a time, with a nominal investment of gun powder
and borrowed Indian soldiers from another king who used to be
the loyal to the British rulers.
The second most important issue was the slavery. The sense of freedom
and honor existed only among the kings and landlords. It did
not matter to the people who either were slaves or bonded laborer
for life. If the middle class existed beyond the king’s office,
survived as the framers, priests and educators.
The term "Satyagraha" relates to a no-violence resistance to the
